Stories are an integral part of any society. A human being listens to stories from grandparents in childhood. Later, when he goes to school , he reads stories in his syllabus books. And as an adult whether he watches a movie, a TV Serial or reads a novel, they all have a story.

The reason why stories are crucial to survival is that they give us lessons. They make us ponder on our actions and behaviors. Also, they have the power to teach us values and morals of life.

Expressive Himani's short inspiring stories is one such initiative to arise and awaken young minds. The purpose of stories posted here is to inspire the reader for taking positive action which is fruitful for both himself/herself and the society at large.

Also, at the end of every story, one or more thought provoking questions are asked which you can answer willingly in the comment section.

Dixey and Wixey






Dixey was a small cheerful Dolphin and Wixey was a big whale living in the ocean.
One day, Dixey was playing in the ocean, dancing on tunes of waves. Wixey was sitting nearby. But Dixey mistook her for a big rock. She kept on dancing in carefree style. She bowed down as she finished her dance. Wixey moved and congratulated Dixey for her amazing performance.

Dixey was surprised to see her as she had seen such a big organism first time. Wixey asked her not to get afraid and be a friend. Dixey was very social in nature. She readily accepted Wixey's proposal. Wixey asked Dixey to teach her dancing. Now, Wixey and Dixey started dancing together.

Dixey would show a dance move and Wixey would try to follow her. But because of her big size, she unknowingly hit Dixey and she collided with a rock. Dixey became unconscious. Wixey panicked to see her little new friend injured like that and cursed herself for hitting her. She picked her and asked her to wake up. She took her to the top of water to keep her afloat. To her comfort, Dixey regained consciousness. But she had injuries.

Dixey asked Wixey to take her to humans as they could take better care of her. Wixey knew that humans might catch her and trap her but in order to save her friend, she accepted the proposal. Wixey supported Dixey in swimming and they both headed towards sea-shore where they could find humans. Fishermen nearby noticed a big whale approaching and reported to the local authorities. They decided not to take any action until Wixey tried to harm them. They got ready with all their arms and nets as Dixey and Wixey reached the sea-shore. Dixey came forward and gestured that she had injuries. Vets there, readily took on Dixey and did necessary medication and vaccination. It took one week for Dixey to get well. Wixey waited till then for her near the sea-shore.

After Dixey got healed, she danced to say thank you to humans and Wixey also followed her dance steps in the ocean(a reasonable distance) as she felt gratitude towards humans for saving her friend's life. Both were happy and the lookers were thrilled to see the dance of a small dolphin and a large whale simultaneously. Everyone clapped after their performance. After that, they went away to their home - the ocean.

TRUE FRIENDS ARE BY HEART OR DOES SIZE MATTER WHEN WE MAKE FRIENDS? DID DIXEY AND WIXEY PROVED THEMSELVES TO BE TRUE FRIENDS OF EACH OTHER? WHY?

Once, there was a little brown puppy, Koko, living in a street along with his mother and five brothers. Siya and Riya

Once there lived a farmer with his two pets: Siya -a cow and Riya -a sparrow, in the countryside.He was very happy with Siya, for she was calm and serene and gave pure milk which fulfilled the farmer's daily needs.Also he felt divine by mere presence of Siya as she illuminated with positive vibes, radiating the whole place with her pacifying aura. Once there was a tortoise, Toto. He lived with his mother near a lake in the jungle. A deer - Dodo also lived in the same jungle who used to come at lake for drinking water. Toto and Dodo became friends. They used to hang out together. Dodo was very proud of his beauty and fast speed of running. He made fun of Toto's slow speed and peculiar structure. Riki was a very clever fox living in the middle of a jungle. He would eat away both, plants and animals. A cuckoo named Piki, with very beautiful voice also lived in the same jungle.
